About Us
Susan Mills-Martinez is the founding attorney of the firm. She started her practice with the goal of providing clients with solid immigration advice and crafting strong arguments on their behalf. She focuses on building good relationships with clients by maintaining regular communication and honesty. She is fluent in Spanish, having lived in Ecuador for five years.
“My first experience with U.S. immigration was applying for my husband to come to the U.S. from Ecuador in 2006. This was before I became an immigration attorney. Â I vividly remember how difficult it was to figure out the process on my own, and I recall finding conflicting information from across the internet. When I work with clients, I always have those experiences in the back of my mind, which allows me to serve clients with empathy and clarity.”
Susan has appeared on behalf of clients before Chicago and Cleveland immigration courts and USCIS, and she has represented clients from over 25 countries. She is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the Ohio State University in International Relations and Diplomacy. She is a 2014 juris-doctoral graduate, with honors, from the University of Akron School of Law, earning CALI awards for her academic excellence and accolades as a fierce mock trial competitor. Prior to strictly focusing her practice on immigration, Susan litigated a wide range of civil matters, in both state and federal courts, achieving favorable outcomes for clients through successful settlement negotiations and trials. Susan is licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio, and nationwide, in the area of immigration and nationality law.
